Nurses and Aides work together to improve the health and well-being of our patients. Skilled nursing is provided by a Registered Nurse who works under the supervision of your primary care physician. Examples of services provided include:

  • Assessments and blood draws
  • Colostomy care
  • IV therapy
  • Wound care
  • Medication administration/setup/instruction
  • Vital Signs
  • Postpartum checks
  • Health educators in nutritional guidance, home safety and health promotions
  • Pain management

In addition to skilled nursing services, home health aides and homemakers assist with activities of daily living, such as:

  • Bathing, shampooing hair, toileting and dressing
  • Meal preparation
  • Laundry
  • Errands
  • Grocery shopping
  • Light housekeeping
  • Transportation to appointments (per agency policy)
  • Other personal cares specific to meet your needs
  •

Additional Services provided as part of home health include:

  • Home Tele-monitoring – A patient-centered system that reminds you daily to check your vital signs. After the data is collected, it is sent electronically to our office where it is reviewed by a Registered Nurse. If the data is outside your normal range, your physician is contacted for further instruction. The goal of the program is to catch possible issues early before they result in a trip to the Emergency Department.

  • Meals on Wheels – a lunch hour meal can be delivered to your home seven days a  week, excluding major holidays. Diet specific meals such as low salt, diabetic or low cholesterol are available. Meals can be delivered to Oskaloosa residents and may be delivered to Beacon and University Park for a slightly higher fee.

  • Med-Alert System – Around the clock assistance, in any emergency, with the push of a button. Once activated, a call for help is sent to a dispatcher who then notifies your chosen contacts and emergency personnel.
